And when we go into our days,
And when we creep out of our caves.
We let the sunshine hit the lines on our faces,
Tracing every wrinkle,
Nibbling at our dimples,
And we remember what warmth feels like.
We lie down in our places,
And we dream of our escape,
as we melt into the earth.
The sun baked leathery skin,
Mud caked, seeping out seeping in,
We’ve waited this long to chime in,
But as we lay here,
as the clouds clear out,
We bow down to ourselves,
We suddenly find ourselves,
not on the outside looking in but,
Shaking from excitement,
Shaking from anticipation,
We’ve waited, and now, it all begins.
Sinking in our fingers,
Diving into the lake of, spirits of the past,
We sit together in a circle,
We sit here hoping this will last,
fast blows the wind by our faces,
As our hearts open in phases,
As she mentally paces,
We met you here, at the races,
And again,
We are here.
And again,
The clouds clear.
