My body of work consists of portraits and figures that incorporate organic shapes and forms. Some of these forms may come in the configuration of wolves, plants, or other specimen found in nature. In my practice I attempt to replicate the emotions I feel through the energy conducted from the presence of these different life forms, combining them with facial expressions and stark contrasting colors. In each piece I try to find a flow, to pull a viewer through the artwork and to the other side of their connection with the world. To further engage an audience, I exemplify movement in each of my works with hazy backdrops or swooshing brushstrokes in attempt to capture the natural world and the constant cycles within it. I work in many mediums including acrylic, oil, cob, clay, poetry, charcoal, and graphite.
